Just a few festival updates from the last one, April was a really successful month for Transmission. The film screened at four festivals, three American one Australian, and to top it all off the film went on to be a Semi-finalist for the 40th Annual Student Academy Awards!
Unfortunately the film was not selected for the finals, but it was still an honor to get that far and the films that proceeded were more than worthy. But, here are some photos if you needed further proof:
Next up on the festival agenda is the Northwest Animation Festival in Portland next Friday (May 17th), where Transmission will play on the festival's opening night, in the same set as this years Academy Award winner for Best Short Animated Film, Disney's Paperman. Which... is absurd, and I'm pretty bummed out that I won't be able to make it out for the festival. This festival will also repeat all of its sets two weeks later in Eugene (so, May 31st), but main festivities are during that first weekend.
After that, I've been informed the film will be screening at the British Animation Film Festival in London on June 23rd; which is pretty neat because the first festival Transmission screened at was the FLIP Animation Festival in the UK last November, so I'm glad it's getting a second British appearance after all this time.
Stay tuned for more!
