Tumblr
I even duplicated the Transmission info page and my Resumé page over on the Tumblr as well.
My portfolio also has its own Tumblr page now, separate from everything else.
Keep in touch.

Stone Quackers, Lucas Bros, FXX and more
There were already a couple preview nights, on FXX on Jan. 2, and FX on Jan 8, where preview episodes of all 3 aired before their official premiere. I managed to snag some screenshots of my credits from the FX Now app:

East, West and All the Rest
Anyways, this past March I drove cross-country from New Jersey to Los Angeles to work at Animation Domination High-Def after working from home for a month. I'm currently animating on an as of yet unannounced series, so I'll be sure to actually post when that happens because I'm very proud of the work I've done on it.
From January through March I was also a judge for the Northwest Animation Festival in Portland, Oregon. Transmission screened there last year on the opening night alongside Disney's Paperman; a fact I still can't believe myself. Transmission, by the way, now has over 46,200 views on Vimeo...
Those things, on top of my work at Otherworldly Mystics and another part time job, have kept me very busy for the last few months; not to mention I'm still getting settled in LA. So with that, I'll leave you with some frog GIFs I recently made, where I experiment with styles for a possible project:

Vimeo Staff Pick
And it's also one of the first Staff Picks to use new animated thumbnails, and was used on Vimeo's blog as an example, so by association, the screenshot was featured on sites like Gizmodo as well!
Because of this, the view count on the film shot up 20,000 in just a couple days and is now currently at 35,000 views. I'm still trying to soak that all in...

Work from Vermont

Physically Home. Mentally in Vermont.
Hey! I’m back from my awesome time in Vermont this past month. I can’t even describe how productive I felt, whether it be from lifting logs and building structures alongside 11 awesome people and a cool dog or just in the amount of personal work I managed to get done in a short amount of time.
I already have a bunch of work scanned, so I’ll be sure to upload it all incrementally in the coming weeks. I don’t want to unload it all on you at once.
I will say though, re-entering my house and using my computer again after 31 days was hyper-weird and I wouldn’t be surprised if I spend less time surfing the web…

See You In September
Hey everyone, this is my last post before I head up to Vermont for the month for Ghostscout Training Camp. I’m not bringing my computer with me, and for good reason, because I won’t have internet or power deep in the woods for those 30 days. But I'll be up there with Ghostshrimp and all these cool folks:
I’m gonna be spending the month drawing, illustrating, building, camping, having fun, and most of all getting a much needed break from the technological world. Though, I did buy a new shortwave radio for some Transmission LARP…
I have a few specific projects in mind that I intend to work on this month, and I’m even bringing a couple books for research with me to help out. It’s my hope that I’ll be able to use this undistracted time to finally free up my mind and get the ideas I want onto the page.
And with that, I just want to say thanks for checking this blog out if you do. And if you have any questions or want to send me cool links while I’m gone, feel free to message me here or wherever and I’ll get back to you when I can.
See you in September! ;;)

More Festval Updates
Unfortunately the film was not selected for the finals, but it was still an honor to get that far and the films that proceeded were more than worthy. But, here are some photos if you needed further proof:
Next up on the festival agenda is the Northwest Animation Festival in Portland next Friday (May 17th), where Transmission will play on the festival's opening night, in the same set as this years Academy Award winner for Best Short Animated Film, Disney's Paperman. Which... is absurd, and I'm pretty bummed out that I won't be able to make it out for the festival. This festival will also repeat all of its sets two weeks later in Eugene (so, May 31st), but main festivities are during that first weekend.
After that, I've been informed the film will be screening at the British Animation Film Festival in London on June 23rd; which is pretty neat because the first festival Transmission screened at was the FLIP Animation Festival in the UK last November, so I'm glad it's getting a second British appearance after all this time.
Stay tuned for more!

The Big One
I was actually informed on Friday, but I hadn’t seen any official public announcements by the Academy and/or other semi-finalists. But I submitted a master tape to the Academy today for their screening next week, so that’s about as official as it’s gonna be at this point.
I have no idea what happens during this screening, or afterwards. But… yeah, I’m pretty shocked, excited, all of the above!

Festival Updates
This weekend the film will be screening at The Little Rock Film Festival’s Little Rock Horror Picture Show. The film will be screening as part of their International Shorts 1 block, which screens twice: First at 10:15 AM at the Argenta Community Theater and again later that day at 1PM at The Joint.
In addition the film will be screening in Jacksonville, Florida at the Citrus Cel Animation Film Festival and I'll also have a piece there at their Art of Storytelling exhibition, which shows the character design process of the film over the course of two years. The film will play on Saturday April 6th, at 2PM as part of their Freshly Squeezed Vol. 2 Student Shorts program.
Next up, as of today, I've been accepted into the Ivy Film Festival, which runs at Brown University from April 8th to the 14th. At this moment I don't know what day the film will be screening so I'll have more on that later (the Transmission film page will always have up to date info).
Lastly (for now, HAHA!) I'll be screening at the Animation Hall of Fame's Savannah International Film Festival in Savannah, Georgia. The festival is just one day, April 13th, and my film will be screening as the opener of Animation Block #4 at 2PM.
I'm still waiting on confirmations from a bunch of other festivals, so stay tuned for more info. As of right now, I don't know which of these I'll be able to attend, if at all, but if I can I'll surely let you know!
Update (3-25-13): Good news! Now Transmission will be screening at the A Night of Horror International Film Festival in Sydney, Australia! The film will be screening on Monday April 15th at 9PM as the opener of the Shorts Program 4: American Horror Stories! This is the only non-USA stop in the month so far, and making April out to be a very busy month. That's a festival a week!
Update (3-29-13): Was just informed tonight that Transmission has been accepted to yet another festival! This time its the Northwest Animation Festival, which actually takes place on two weekends in Oregon; first is May 17th - 19th in Portland, and then again May 31st - June 2nd in Eugene. My friend, and fellow SVA 2012 graduate, Evan Borja, will also have his film, OTZI, screened here!

Transmission at KLIK 2012
Transmission will be screening as part of the Student Shorts 2 program on BOTH the 8th (tomorrow) and the 10th, which is pretty cool. Not to mention theres a ton of other awesome films screening in the same set, so if you can make it, stick around.
And as mentioned before, you can still purchase the limited edition Transmission cassette and get instant secret access to the film if you're unable to make it to any of the festival screenings and/or just want rare items.

Transmission at FLIP 2012!
It will be screening at FLIP International Animation Festival in the UK on Friday, November 2nd, 2012!
The film will be the closer of their Open Shorts 2 program which runs from 5-7PM at the Light House Media Centre in Wolverhampton.
For those not in the UK, the film will also be screening next week at KLIK Amsterdam Animation Festival; or you can still purchase the limited edition cassette tape for the film which also includes private access to the film online!

Transmission
This is a gif from my thesis film, Transmission.
It's about the four-eyed creature you see above, Quad-Clops, and his dog, 2D, after they find a radio in the barren post-apocalyptic wasteland that is their home, and their journey to find new life.
The short film was completely hand-animated by me in Flash over the course of six months, though I've been developing the story for a couple years. Music for the film was recorded by Chris Roberts, and we're working on putting it out on an extremely limited edition set of tapes through Otherworldly Mystics if anyone's interested.
The film will be premiering at SVA's Dusty Film Festival on May 7th at the SVA Theater on 333 W23rd St in New York City, and after that I'm going to look into submitting it to festivals before putting it publicly online. But I may find a way to make it available to those that really want to see it.
Stay tuned!

Another Update
Word on the internet street is that new Otherworldly Mystics tapes are coming in very soon, so look for some of my logo work on that shortly.
